PADMA–Earth

PADMA gatherings are intentional and experiential dining experiences that awaken a sense of mutual kinship with all Earth. Each dinner is distinct and collaborated with artists and chefs, weaving multi-sensory narratives rooted in deep ecology, regenerative food futures, and local community care.

PADMA, in Buddhist teachings, is the energy associated with passion, compassion, and the element of fire. Its literal translation is lotus, a flower that exists to create beauty through mud.

PADMA is founded by Kyna Payawal, a Filipina American who has lived across continents with a playful curiosity to how people transform and light up. This project is a reflection of sharing everything she’s passionate about–reimagination, regeneration, and reconnection through food. Her offerings are inspired from being a student and teacher of meditation, healing one’s relationship with self and others through food, leading design and research at a climate startup, and joyfully growing and sharing food as a backyard gardener.

VISION

A root challenge in realizing human and planetary health is a perceived separation between humans, other living Earth, and to oneself.

Food is one of the most direct ways where we can experience a pleasurable and reciprocal union with all Earth. This felt union transcends to a bond of mutual care, a bond where you care for its continued growth as it cares for yours.

Dining communally with joy and presence is a vehicle for us to remember the ways we’re all naturally striving for biodiversity, evolution, and abundance.

PADMA gatherings aim to seed daily practical ways of eating and connecting for a fuller life. And with the collective power of our food choices, rebuild our food systems to be regenerative and equitable for all people.
